Reviews for Three Weeks Last Spring

Skye Dunbar desperately needs a vacation. The highly ambitious computer programmer is hoping the seclusion of an island in the Pacific Northwest will help bring closure to a painful breakup. The London native rents a small cabin in the picturesque San Juan Islands of Washington State where she plans to relax, reflect and get her life back on track. But a mysterious stranger suddenly turns Skye’s holiday plans upside down. A local fisherman with a seductive smile may be exactly what Skye needs to get over her disastrous relationship with Michael.

Jedediah Walker is a man on a mission. The marine biologist is in a race against time to find out who’s responsible for poisoning fish in Puget Sound. Dozens of dead marine life have washed up on the shores of the San Juan’s and Walker fears the toxic dumping could soon endanger people. Walker knows solving this crime needs his full attention but he’s distracted by a beautiful vacationer who is renting his rustic cabin. The attraction is intense and mutual but he’s suspicious of this secretive woman whose unexpected arrival seems highly suspect.

“Walker watched Skye in the moonlight, and could see she was fighting an inner battle, and wondering if it was the same battle he was fighting. There was no denying she was beautiful, just as there was no denying he wanted her, but he was also sure that somehow she fit into the investigation, but he just couldn’t figure out where.”

Skye is hesitant to let down her guard and get involved with another man who may mistreat her. Her trusting nature and high powered profession has put her in jeopardy before. Skye and her business partner, John are on the cusp of gaining international notoriety for developing a cutting edge computer program. But she never expected her job skills would once again put her safety at risk. Skye dismisses her better judgment and falls hook, line and sinker for the smooth talking Walker.

“For ten long minutes Skye fought to control her swirling emotions. Her feelings towards Walker were totally confused. Only a couple of days ago she had hated the sight of him and the mere mention of his name. Now she found herself responding to his every touch. Was it possible? Was she really attracted to this arrogant, complex, but devastatingly handsome man?” Suddenly, Walkers’ search for the polluters gets personal after someone hacks into his computer and vandalizes his Seattle office. He’s determined to expose these dangerous criminals and fears the woman who has stolen his heart may be involved with something more sinister.

THREE WEEKS LAST SPRING
VICTORIA HOWARD
Rating: 4 Cups

Three Weeks Last Spring is a romance that takes the reader on a remarkable journey that gets better with each page. Skye and Jedediah both have problems that continue to be troublesome but no matter how bad things appear, their hearts seem to connect but neither wishes to be the first to express so. It is like a cat and mouse game of wits. One thing is certain; Ms. Howard spins a tale that places the reader directly into the lives of the characters. The blending in of the plot with the fish and the breaking into the computer made the story flow smoothly. The other secondary characters contribute to the storyline to make this read a great adventure. With a plate full of action-packed adventure that kept this reader entertained, Ms. Howard creates an enjoyable read.

Mystery, intrigue, environmental disaster and love, await Skye as she settles in the secluded cabin in the San Juan Islands.  Meanwhile, marine biologist, Jedediah Walker has problems of his own. Victoria Howard brings her characters and their emotional baggage to life in Three Weeks Last Spring. Her vivid descriptions of the landscape enable readers to experience the beauty of the north- west United States. Readers are drawn to Skye and Walker as their relationship goes from bad to good and back again. Is it true love or simply sexual attraction?

An excellent read for a quiet afternoon. Just enough suspense to keep readers interested, as well as a tantalizing romance. Recommended by Reviewer.

I can say in all honesty that Victoria Howard has written a page turner with her debut novel. While reading Three Weeks Last Spring you are not only reading about what is happening to Skye at the present time, but piece by piece you also find out what happened with her before she went to Seattle, about her troubled relationship . This makes your understanding of her sharpen more and more by every piece. So much happens in this wonderful book, too much to write all down in a review. But if it would be possible to rate this book 6 flags, I would do it immediately. This book is filled with so much suspense and of course romance, it deserves more than the maximum score!

Despite a former, disastrous love affair with a US naval officer, London-based Skye Dunbar decides to rent a cabin on one of the islands in an attempt to face her inner demons and lay the past to rest.

I just finished reading 'Three Weeks Last Spring' by Victoria Howard, it is a well written, well rounded action/romance. The story never got boring, there were times I shouted "no", and times I cried.  I loved it.  I felt a part of the story and I couldn't get enough of it. I adored the characters in the story and found myself wanting more at the end.  I hope that Ms. Howard will continue the story of Skye as she has potential to find more action and adventure in her line of work, as well as Walker.

I recommend this book to everyone who likes a good romance that has a lot of action mixed in.
